Malyevados

MalyevadosMalyevados

In English
Malyevados was born making tango. We liked the classic style of the guitar-tango of the twenties. Lyric writers such as Manzi, Expósito, García Jiménez y Celedonio Flores, had us busy trying to approach their songs. As the creative drive sometimes becomes unbearable we started to feel the need to create our own work. That’s where the tango started to become a sideline of what we were looking for. There was something in the language, in the topics, in the rythms of tango that made us feel uncomfortable when it was time to sit down and write a song. And that’s how our first melodies came about, disengaged from those old songs, in some rythms, revisiting the very origins of tango. When the bandoneon and the brasses were brough on board Malyevados found its style; the works were now much more personal but still based on the spirit of those pieces of yore. Fusion of styles, more up-to-date poetry. Calls on other ports. There are hints of latinamerican waltzes in the songs; also of the fado and other rythms in the same spirit.
